Their upcoming film will be shot over 70 days in Atlanta, San Francisco, San Jose, Las Vegas and maybe LA.

After wrapping up her shoot for Vishal Bhardwaj's Rangoon and picking up her third National award for her double role in Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Kangana Ranaut flew off to London with sister Rangoli for "a bit of shopping", after which she moved on alone to an undisclosed location on the Austrian border in Germany for some horseriding, trekking and mountainclimbing.

The actress will be returning to the bay later this week and start prepping for Hansal Mehta's next, the tentatively titled Simran, which rolls in the US in June.

"It will be a start-to-finish 70-day schedule; a few portions will be shot in India. Kangana plays a Gujarati girl and as part of her prep will be watching Gujarati plays and films to get a sense of the culture and the dialect. Ketan Mehta's Bhavni Bhavai is a must watch," says Hansal who will be shooting the film in Atlanta, San Francisco, San Jose, Las Vegas and maybe in Los Angeles.

Simran is about a Gujarati girl who heads out to California and gets involved in small-time criminal activities. "I play a bank robber in the film. The story is inspired by real-life incidents but not directly by Sandeep Kaur. It's about a Gujarati girl who dreams of making it big, she sets out to fulfil her mother's dream but ends up losing everything," the 29-year-old actress had earlier revealed to Mirror (August 13, 2015) adding that she is going to have a lot of fun with the character. "She is very selfassured, that's an endearing trait about the community." For Vishal's Rangoon, a Casablanca-like love triangle in which she plays a '40s screen diva, Julia, Kangana had learnt horse-riding with popular villain-stuntman and horse whisperer Jeetu Verma. Hansal adds that they will also visit Gujarat for a few days. This time besides spending time with the locals in Ahmedabad, Hansal and Kangana will meet and interact with Gujarati NRIs settled in the US to understand their lifestyle.

Being a Gujarati himself, the Aligarh director is happy to be making this film. "It will be a fun, entertaining film. We will be keeping Kangana's look very authentic to the culture. The film's story and script have been penned by Apurva Asrani," he concludes.

Can't wait for the first shot on the sets. Hope Hansal has a great follow-up to Aligarh with this movie - critical acclaim and BO success.

They are very tight lipped about the project... so not really sure if it is a serious or fun movie.
