Airlift,

It was one time watch. It had moments in few scenes but as a whole not sure if it was that good and wish movie had stick to theme of humanity till very end rather than going in patriotic manner because that look forced. If they wanted to include patriotic theme then I wish song was better. Also, just to make it look like more commercial movie they brought herogiri scenes which was so random I felt, and distracted from main plot. I'm still confused on why was women being harassed shown in middle? 😕 Few other random scenes like that was thrown in between.

Akshay was really good! Special mention to actor who played Officer Sanjeev Kholi. Nimirit didn't have much to do but got 2 scenes to her credit and she was good in those!

I think BW makers should move on from Argo climax. First, Baby now Airlift still it doesn't have same impact which Argo climax had.

Spotlight.

I liked movie and credit to team for handling issue like child abuse with decency, had it been a desi movie we would have had one scene where priest is trying to molest baby or kissing scene. Another good thing was that they never diverted from main plot with characters personal problem or anything. I liked in between discussion about one preference of believing in god or on how one views changes with time.

Mark Ruffalo was fab as journalist investigator!! I hope he wins Oscar this time atleast.

Two movies based on real events but so much difference in treatment, screenplay. I think this where HW gets better than desi movies. I know it is not fair to compare but couldn't help and notice it.

Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo:

Excruciatingly pathetic film. I thought Barjatya of all ppl would atleast know a thing or two about showing family relationships with depth cuz all else aside, his films always had that...unfortunately in this case, Barjatya too seems to have fallen prey to the dazzle of having more money at his disposal, consumed by his own visions of elaborate sheesh mahals and palaces and costumes to bother infusing any soul into his characters or the storyline. Utter waste of resources and a step down for Salman from all his Prem roles as well as the recent good performance in Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

This movie is a tough competition for worst film of the year along with Shaandaar. An exercise in W*F-ery.

Since I am active again here, thought I might as well post here. Watched 21 movies so far this year. Some repeats. Plus some TV show seasons.

Filmistan: A surprisingly underrated gem. A wonderful movie that shows differences aside, deep down the common man on both sides of the border have much in common.

I agree. I loved this movie. It also won two acting awards at the star screen awards, and I was so excited to see that.

Airlift..2/5

.I am actually surprised this movie did more business than baby and special 26... I just was confused what the director was trying to portray.. Was he criticizing the Indian government for acting slow.. Or praising them.. For getting them out?

The first parts.. I was in tears because it reminded me of what mujahideen did to my country Afghanistan back in 1990.. They did similar to what Iraqis did in kuiet .. Great acting by akshay..

Filmistan 2/5

Another good movie with a terrible ending..it just felt like the makers quit on this movie.. Can't tell if they survived.. Made it back..what happened to them..who knows..

So this about movies I've recently seen . I saw A Few Good Men on TV . Excellent movie . Cruise , Nicholson , Demi Moore , Kevin Pollack , and Kevin Bacon all rocked . Even small cameos like Cuba Gooding Jr and Noah Wyle were awesome . This film was so serious yet had so many funny moments . If only more courtroom dramas could be like this ⭐️
