The Immigrant- Marion Cotillard is just amazing
The Spectacular Now- really good, and relateable for me, coming of age film
Tamasha- it was quite good, some parts lagged but overall I did like it
Non- Stop- surprisingly I quite enjoyed it

Tamasha- A superb concept f**ked up completely by Imtiaz.Still don't understand the reason behind complicating the narrative unnecessarily. So poorly written and edited. The first half is so boring, everything keeps happening in real time, I really wanted a remote with fast forward option. The whole Corsica part was such a waste of time- they kept doing the same Dev Anand - Mona shit again and again. The second part was slightly better. It is only because of Ranbir and Deepika that I sat till the end. Their screen presence and acting forced me not to fall asleep; they were brilliant! Esp the part in Social before the Agar Tum Saath Ho starts- WOW! Ranbir proved again why he is easily the best actor of the younger lot.The variations in his character and his dialogue delivery were just brilliant. Same goes with Deepika. She is just growing with one film after another. A treat to watch her after an equally powerful performance in Piku.

I liked the locations and cinematography the most. There were also some Imtiaz Ali moments in the film that I really liked like Ram and Lakshman wearing sweater in Shimla while performing in Ved's dream, showing Ranbir's character development after the talk with the autowallah through the autowallah's song and showing those punjabi guys as Ved and Tara's mood- the way Heer toh badi sad changes with the mood of both of them. These small bits were so much better than the bigger picture. Ranbir and Deepika deserves all the praise they are getting for the film. The two saviours of a complete snoozefest.

1.5/5

P.S- And what was the whole Calcutta angle in Tara's part in the film? Imtiaz doesn't establish anything about her family, her life except for the tea tasting bit which I think many who don't know about TRA would even get it. I think he just randomly brought in the Calcutta angle to show the Howrah Bridge shot and the Tokyo angle to show that crowded street timelapse.

Ignore the typos. Won't even bother reading this review for such a terrible film again.

Shaandaar. It was utter trash. How did the screenplay even get approved in the first place?

I saw Piku . I liked it . It wasn't as endearing as BB or TWMR but it was a good movie . Yes it tries to preach elders need our attention but somewhere Big B just came off as whiny and someone who needs a good punch in the face πŸ˜†. Think the message just went over my head . Deepika was good . Irfan was amazing . I think his best performance . It had a lot of funny conversational moments . Kinda like Seinfeld . I loved the constant conversation of bathroom stuff . Especially when they stand Big B on the toilet πŸ˜†. Big B acted good but I loathed his character like big time . Overall I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10 πŸ‘

VIP : Loved the film. Don't know what else to say except for the fact that Dhanush is a mind blowing actor. I don't know how and why is he this good. I don't know if it sounds blasphemous but this man is Kamal Hassan and Rajnikanth rolled into one with those acting capabilities and that killer attitude in massy scenes. Coming to the movie, I found it pretty awesome. Engaging from beginning to the end.

A Beautiful Mind
Nice movie. But.. uh... I know it was a biopic of a great mathematician but but I feel the Oscars the movie got... uh.. they didn't deserve those Oscars, esp. Jennifer Connelly's one. She was average. Ron Howard's one was also πŸ€”

I'm writing this just to say BW awards and The Oscars both act same while judging biopics of great guys or disabled guy movies.
