Emraan Hashmi turns 34 today. With two big projects slated for release early this year, the 'serial kisser' is riding on high waves. Ekta Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj's joint venture Ek thi Daayan is scheduled to release in April while UTV Productions plan to release Ghanchakkar in July. Take a look at his Bollywood journey.
Emraan Hashmi wants to celebrate his 34th birthday with family and close friends. The actor talks about birthday gifts and how busy he is to take out time for his big day...
What are your plans for the big day?
Let me see how many hours I can squeeze out for celebrations as I have just come back from Patiala, where I was shooting for Danis' (Tanovic) film. Now, I have to shoot certain parts for Ek Thi Daayan and be part of its promotions too.
Which has been the best birthday gift you've received?
I feel every birthday gift is special. So I don't remember any one in particular. But yes, when I was in college, my father bought a new car. Although it was a gift for the entire family, I remember driving it to college on my birthday.
Are you planning to throw a big party?
Not really! A lot of my industry colleagues throw lavish parties on their big days. But for me, birthday celebrations mean spending quality time with my close friends and family members. So, no big bashes for me.
Any special birthday wish for this year?
For the last four years, I've been busy shooting on my birthday. So, I just hope to take some time out for my family and pals this year.
Professionally, a lot of great things are happening for you.
It's a very exciting time. I am working on my first international film, Danis Tanovic's venture. Hopefully, this project would open a completely new path for me when it takes the rounds of international film festivals and other countries. I'm also starting work on Karan Johar-Ekta Kapoor's co-production (with Kareena Kapoor) soon.
