This topic is laughable. Katrina has never gotten her due credit. There was a time that films were instant hits because of her and only her. In 2007 alone, she had two superhit films.

This is going to piss off FOD but I don't care. Her darling Ranbir's movies all used to flop or underperform. The two exceptions to his early movies were both films with Katrina. Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani and Rajneeti. He needed Katrina to give him his first hits.

From 2007-2013, she was ruling the industry. Juhi Chawla herself said (as posted in the previous page) that no actress has had as many hits in a row as she did. A film like Bodyguard had more hype from Katrina's item song than anything else. I remember hearing stories of people who paid just to see her song and left after that.

There were articles pointing out that she's the closest to Sridevi and Madhuri in their prime, in her ability to deliver hits on her name and face. I saw a ranking of actresses with bankability at the box office, and she was ranked at the top with Sridevi and Madhuri when all the numbers were analyzed.

Dhoom 3 was her commercial peak. After that, her stardom started to decline especially as Deepika rose steadily to the top and took over. It was around 2015-2016, that her films stopped being readymade hits. I also remember that this is around the time I also stopped watching all her films and became more selective. Whereas before, I used to catch all of Katrina's movies from her peak era.

The problem is that there aren't many Katrina fans on IF so people readily accept idiotic threads like this that clearly have an agenda. PardesiBabu was the biggest Kat fan but she's gone now. Only StacyStyle is left as the resident Kat fan around here.

In general, actresses do not have a long shelf life in India. Madhuri was the biggest star, bigger than the Khans, but all her comebacks since Devdas have failed. If BB3 is successful at the box office, it'll be her first successful film since 2002, more than 20 years later.

I roll my eyes every time this danged thread appears on the front page every few weeks. You have to be completely delusional or plain ignorant or a sour ass hater to ever deny that Katrina had massive box office pull.

For several years, people went to go watch her movies JUST to see her in them. You think MBKD became a hit because people ran to watch Imran Khan?? Bffr. That movie, especially, and I remember this vividly, was credited as a hit solely due to Katrina. No, no one cared that she couldn't act. People only wanted to see THAT face on the big screen. Her looks, along with her towering screen presence, made her the biggest female star at the time. No one has come close to that level since.

Obviously, she has long passed her peak, as it so happens with everyone. She is not a crowd puller anymore. But, her stardom is one for the books and it annoys me that people want to discredit that from her for whatever bs reasons. Like do some dang research first.
