I don't know what people were expecting, he is the son of a bussiness tycoon not a humanitarian. Of course he'll be spoiled. Furthermore, he isnt a celebrity, socialite or entertainer, he is meerly dating deepika padukone. What personality standards did people want him to meet? The boy is rich, young, and atleast has gone to university and is showing a lot of interest in activley being a part of his fathers industry as well as sports.
So.. are people waiting for a star? No. He's a rich guys son who is dating a star, and for someone who is only attatched to the entertainment industry through his somewhat-girlfriend i think he faired pretty well in this interview.
And when i said i underestimated him before, i had assumed he did not know how to talk and was just an idiot. Unnatractive or 'spoilt' as he may be, the kid is smart.

^ too true, about a boy is so good. Have you read the book? Its even better. Nick Hornby is a hilarious writer. Yeah the way he sticks his lips out and his jaw is sort of in an angle lol, reminded me of hoult a lot.

Hmmm...

Okay, Sid is not conventionally good looking at all and that accent doesn't help. But his personality is just decent enough to be tolerated in the creamy circles. Wit? I'm not sure. Most of his answers maybe his own but there is a high possibility that a professional writer edited them to make them sound more cool ( it was done for a previous guest on the same show as per grapevine). You really can't tell what is true and what is not of his persona from this interview.

As for Deepika, i thought everyone knew the truth. Dips has kind of ' dry cleaned and ironed ' him to make him a front runner 'desirable' bachelor . The suave and high collar class has come after he was linked with her. If Dips can get anything more than Cartiers and Louis Vuittons from him, lucky her.

Its no use trying to even figure out what kind of a person Sid is. Good, bad, grey - who knows. But with a father like Vijay Mallya whose reputation and life is as SCARLET as the uniforms of Kingfisher's chick staff - chances of Sid not being VM Part 2 are rather bleak.

If nothing else, he will at least add to his father's billions.

^ oooh my favourite book by him would have to be 'a long way down'. it perfectly dark and funny i love it. it has been 'pre-production' for being made into a film for several years now. An Education was reaaal nice, he has such a way with making likeable but faulty characters who are almost always hilarious.

What is this show about Simi Aunty?
First Ranbir then Deepika and now Sid Mallaya.
What next - Sonakshi then Salman then Katrina Kaif/Zareen Khan?
Or Priyanka then Shahid then Kareena then Saif then Amrita?(I know I know Amrita, Zareen etc. cannot be most desirable)😳

Haha I was thinking that I'd really hate Siddhartha once I watched the entire episode, because they made him out to be a real PRICK in the ads 😆

I was surprised though. I mean, I didn't have a load of expectations or anything, which I understand more, day by day, would be a mistake of doing from THIS specific show... but he doesn't seem all bad a kid! What I liked about him is that he didn't succumb to Simi aunty's 'lets-talk-about-your-love-life-aunty-is-all-ears-with-the-rest-of-the-world' trap. He told her to her face that he isn't into all the lovey-dovey, philosophical business, which I guess let them be able to talk about other things? I dunno, that's how I saw it haha.

Yes, he seems like a brat, but... what kind of a Mallya kid wouldn't be 😆 though I kinda liked what he said, about how he wants the Siddhartha to be more known than the Mallya bit of his name. He's pretty young, so I feel its sliiightly unfair of people to expect so much from the kid 😆 okay yes, agreed that he has a lot of resources at hand... but whatever haha, take that up with him.

I think this was one of the better episodes so far!

OMG he wrote such a brilliant screenplay for An Education! I had to read High Fidelity for a lit. course but I didnt get time to read it and it's sitting on my bookshelf. Maybe I'll read it on my flight.
