As earlier mentioned our Shahenshah will soon share the screen with Mollywood star Mohanlal for a Malayalam project titled 'Kandahar'. Amitabh Bachchan will be flying to Ooty for the film's shoot. The icon has stated in his blog that he has taken up this offer only because it has Mohanlal and his admiration for the actor. He wrote, "My admiration for Mohanlal could never have made me refuse this offer and so I do it for him." Bachchan considers Mohanlal as "one of the most incredible talents from Kerala and the Malayalam film industry". He further said that he has admired the south star and his work through many years of his existence in this profession. "He has a unique body and face language. You get the feeling that he is doing nothing, yet it results in the most amazing results - natural, without effort and effective. Just such a joy to watch him," Big B stated. The Malayalam project was offered to Bachchan when he had been in Kerala last year to attend the celebration of sound technician Resul Pookutty's Oscar victory. There Mohanlal along with director Major Ravi had approached Big B with the film's proposal. Later they met him in Mumbai and requested his fee expectation. To their surprise, Bachchan laughed it off. Recalling the incident he wrote thus: "What? Charge you for working for three days in a Mohanlal film? An actor I admire? You must be joking! No way, no fees, no nothing. Just tell me when I have to report and where. That is all." Sharing titbits about the film, Amitabh said that although it's a Malayalam film his character is north Indian. So he will be mostly seen speaking in Hindi, with the odd sentence in Malayalam. "Now that shall be tough, but effort shall be made, let's see what happens," the star qutoted. Hmm, even we are waiting eagerly Bachchanji…. Besides Big B, 'Kandahar' features another B-town actor Sunil Shetty. The movie expected to be dubbed into Tamil and Hindi, will be completed in a whopping budget of Rs 10 crore. |
