Chapter Two

2012

Had Arjun not been worried about Riya, he would have had the time to properly hear what Saaransh said and register it in his brain. But right now, he was too concerned about Riya's safety than anything else. Since they had begin working together, Arjun always found himself getting closer and closer to her.

There was something about her that made his dead heart beat, that made him want to live but Arjun didn't like that feeling. He was too consumed by his the feelings of regret and guilt that it angered him that he was having such feelings for someone who is not Roshini.

The regret of not being able to save her, the guilt of still not being able to find his wife's culprit, and the burdening realization of the fact that he was beginning to feel for Riya made him angry at himself. He didn't believe that he deserved to be loved by anybody after Roshini's death. Arjun believed that he was not worthy of love and that bringing Riya into his messy life would only put her life at risk.

He didn't want to lose her like he had lost Roshini. That's why he stayed away from her most of the time but it were moments like these that the concern that he had been suppressing for Riya would spill out.

"Riya!" he yelled out.

"Mumma!" cried Saaransh as he immediately let go of Arjun's leg and rushed over to where Riya had fallen down on the floor.

"Mumma!" Saaransh tried to wake her up by calling for her again and again not realizing the affect this one word had on Arjun and Sameer.

Hearing Saaransh call Riya, his "Mumma", Arjun froze momentarily. He felt as if someone took his heart out of his chest and was squeezing the life out of it. It was clear to him that this was Riya's son and that also meant that Riya was married.

Arjun felt complicated about the little piece of information. He kind of felt relieved that all this meant that Riya didn't have feelings for him and he wouldn't put her in any danger but Arjun also felt heartbroken because once again he lost the person he had feelings for.

Sameer, on the other hand, had been frozen on the spot because of entirely different reason. Unlike Arjun, Sameer had clearly heard Saaransh's name and if the little kid's words were to be trusted, then he was Arjun and Riya's son who was apparently from a different time considering how he had just appeared out of nowhere, was so familiar with them, looked like Arjun Suryakant Rawte's carbon copy and talked about other people they haven't met and situations that haven't happened yet.

The possibility of time travel, the fact that his ex-best friend and his favorite student are not only married but have a son and a baby on the way, and the knowledge that he was not just a their parents' co-worker, but "Uncle Sammy" to Arjun's kids, stunned him to the core.

"Dadda! Uncle Sammy! Dekho na Mumma ko kya hua?!" Saaransh's cries brought the two ACP's out of their stupor and the two rushed over to check on Riya while forgetting about their other two team members who still hadn't gained consciousness.

Arjun picked her up in his arms and carried her to the dormitory. He placed her on the bed and yelled at Sameer to call a doctor while he sprinkled some cold water on her face.

"Saaransh....Arjun...." he heard her mumbling while she blinked her eyes as if she was regaining consciousness but then Riya heard Saaransh's question to Arjun.

"Dadda, Mumma theek toh ho jayegi na? Aurr little baby bhi theek hoga na?" Saaransh asked while tugging at the sleeve of Arjun's shirt making him frown in confusion while Riya lost consciousness once again.

"Tum mujhe Dadda kyun bula rahe ho?" Arjun was confused. His attention shifted momentarily from Riya to her son.

With a matching frown, Saaransh counter asked, "Aap mere Dadda ho toh aapko Dadda hii bulaunga na? Uncle thodi na bolunga."

"Tsk." Arjun pinched the bridge of his nose, "Lekin Dadda toh Papa ko bolte hain na aurr main tumhara Papa nahi hoon."

The little boy's eyes widened like saucers, his lips curling downwards in a pout, "Aapko bhi Uncle Saamy jaise amn-ezia ho haya hai? Woh Ayesha Auntie ko bhool gaye, and aap mereko."

Misty eyed, Saaransh wrapped his small arms around Arjun's waist and told him, "Aap mere Dadda ho, yeh meri Mumma hai, aurr main aap dono ka chota sa, pyaar sa, nanha sa, munna sa, Anshu hoon."

"Yeh, yeh -" Arjun was appalled at Saaransh's claim, "yeh kya bakwaas rahe ho! What nonsense!" he tried to pull away but Saaransh's tears tugged at the strings of his heart and he didn't do anything.

"Aap toh bolte thhe that I am your fav-rate baby, and aap hii ne mera name rakha thha na, Saaransh Arjun Rawte. Aap mereko bhool gaye Dadda!" he began crying loudly making Arjun panic.

Meanwhile, Sameer entered the dormitory after calling the doctor and placing Chotu and Shree on the chairs. When he saw Saaransh crying, Sameer couldn't help but scold Arjun, "Rawte, ab tum chote bacche ko bhi rulaoge?! Tum na -"

But before he could continue, Sameer cried in pain as something hit his leg hard. He found Saaransh standing next to him in that particular Arjun Rawte posture as he glared at him, "Uncle Sammy! Aap mere Dadda ko scold kar rahe ho!" he had just kicked Sameer's leg for shouting at Arjun.

The two grown men looked at the child in worder, "Don't you dare!" he threatened but failed to make an impression as his childish voice made the threat sound funny and harmless.

"Daada, you know Uncle Sammy pagal ho gaye hain. Unko amn-ezia bhi ho gaya hai." and he began explaining to Arjun about what his Uncle Sammy had done.

His was in middle of the explanation when the doctor arrived to check on Riya. Watching the doctor check upon Riya, Saaransh tugged at Arjun's hand and asked, "Dadda, Mumma theek ho jayegi na?"

"Huh?" Arjun still had no idea why this kid was calling him Dadda but this was not the time to talk about it, "Haan, theek ho jayegi tumhari Mumma." he assured.

Done with the examination, the doctor turned to face the two adults and one kid in the room and informed them, "She is perfectly fine. Bas shayad kuch stress ya shock ki wajah se behosh ho gayi hongi. There is nothing to worry about."

"Little baby bhi theek hai na." at Saaransh's query, the doctor turned to Arjun and asked, "Yeh pregnant hain?"

Arjun frowned. He glanced at Riya for a moment before looking at Sameer and asking, "Yeh pregnant hai?"

The ETF chief had no answer to his second-in command's question. The doctor then asked Arjun another question, "Aapko koi idea nahi ki aapki wife pregnant hai ke nahi?"

"Meri wife pregnant hai?" wondered Arjun out loud, "Wait, aap keh rahi hai ki Riya meri wife hai?"

The shock on Arjun's face caused the doctor to frown in confusion, "Lekin abhi toh aapke bete ne inhe Mumma aurr aapko Dadda bola." she pointed while looking at Saaransh, "And aap mein se kisiko yeh confirm nahi ki yeh pregnant hain ke nahi?"

Arjun had no idea what was happening around him, everything was a mess at the moment, "Doctor, Riya meri wife nahi hai, aurr na hi yeh baccha mera hai. And yes, we don't know whether Riya is pregnant or not."

The doctor nodded her head and was about to say something but was interrupted by a loud shriek from Saaransh.

"Haaaaaawwwwwwww!! How could you say that, Dadda?" he glared at Arjun with tears swimming in his black eyes, "Aap mere Dadda ho, Saaransh Arjun Rawte ke Dadda. Aurr yeh," he pointed his finger at an unconscious Riya and added, "Yeh meri Mumma aurr aapki wife hai, Riya Arjun Rawte."

"Aap hume sacchi bhool gaye?" cried Saaransh while Sameer and Arjun could only stare at the little kid in disbelief.

"Tum mere bete ho?" the disbelief could be heard in Arjun's tone.

"Haan." Saaransh nodded.

"Mera koi beta nahi hai, in fact, mera koi bhi baccha nahi hai!" exclaimed Arjun, "Agar hota toh mujhe pata hota na. Tum kab aurr kahan se paida ho gaye?" he was getting a little angry because of his inability to understand what was going around.

Saaransh began to wail so Sameer picked him up in his arms, trying to comfort him while glaring at Arjun.

"Dekhiye, abhi ke liye toh yeh theek hain but in case she is pregnant, then I request you ki aap log unhe ek baar hospital mein check up karwane ke liye le jaayein. A gynac will be able to tell you better." the doctor suggested.

Rubbing at his temples, Arjun nodded and added, "Woh hum dekh lenge, doctor. Thank you." the doctor took her fees and also checked upon Chotu and Shree before leaving.

While Chotu, Shree, and Riya were unconscious, Sameer and Arjun decided to talk to Saaransh. In the conference room, Saaransh was seated atop the table while Arjun and Sameer sat on the chairs, facing him.

After getting briefed by Sameer about how Saaransh had suddenly appeared out of nowhere, the ETF chief and his second-in-command decided to check on the CCTV footage first and what they saw was so shocking and unworldly that they had to watch the footage multiple times to be sure.

"Shakal toh dekh." Sameer whispered to Arjun while gesturing towards Saaransh who was staring back at both of them, "Tumhaari carbon copy hai."

Whispering back, Arjun said, "Tum kehna kya chahte ho Rathore? Ki yeh baccha yahan time travel karke aaya hai and that too from the future?"

Sameer nodded, "Haan. Aurr yeh bhi ki yeh tumhara aurr Riya ke beta hai."

Arjun narrowed his eyes at his ex best friend and gave him a look that screamed, 'You are unbelievable!'

"Nahi yakeen aata toh issi se pooch lete hain." Sameer leaned forward and placed his hands on the table.

"Saaransh, aap bata sakte ho ki aaj ki date kya hai?" began Sameer much to Arjun's annoyance.

Saaransh narrowed his eyes at Sameer just like Arjun had did just few seconds ago but still answered, "12th of October, 2023"

"2023?!" Sameer and Arjun shouted in unison while Saaransh just nodded his head in positive.

"And aapki family mein kaun kaun hai?" asked Sameer, still not recovered from his shock.

"Mere Dadda hain," he pointed at Arjun, "Riya Mumma hai, Vihaan Dada hai, main hoon, aurr aane waala little baby." Saaransh informed while counting his family members on his fingers.

"Vihaan Dada? Woh kaun hai? asked Arjun, finally founding his voice.

By now Saaransh was sure that his Dadda and Uncle Sammy have suffered head injuries while trying to catch criminals and hence they forgot about everybody. So he decided that he should help them recall all the things and all those people that they have forgotten.

That's why when Arjun asked about who this Vihaan is, Saaransh simply replied, "Vihaan Dada, my elder brother and your first-born." he informed while stressing on his r's.

Sameer turned sideways to look at Arjun in amazement and showed him three of his fingers. Arjun slapped his hands away and asked, "Aur kaun hai tumhaari family mein?"

Saaransh began counting on his fingers again, "Uncle Sammy hai, unki wife Ayesha auntie hai -"

Now it was Arjun's turn to give the same look of amazement to Sameer, "Ayesha auntie, Uncle Sammy ki wife, haan." he drawled.

"Roshni di hai." the name made both the men turn serious, "Roshini di?" asked Sameer while Arjun felt choked up with emotions.

"Haan!" Saaransh nodded furiously, "Aapki elder daughter, you named her after our fairy godmother. Mumma ne bataya thha."

Sameer and Arjun had tears in their eyes as they fondly recalled their shared memories. Lost in the memories of the past, the two ACPs shed tears for their Roshini while Saaransh continued.

"Roshini di ke baad, Riyanshi aurr Parth who dono twins hain, phhir Saisha hai, Uncle Saamy ne bola thha ki jo baby abhi Ayesha auntie ke stomach mein hai woh boy hai. Abhi uska name decide nahi kiya." smiled Saaransh while Sameer and Arjun were stupefied.

With eyes wide like saucers and lips stretched in an amusing and teasing grin, Arjun turned towards Sameer and rewarded him with slow claps, "Wah! Ranjhore ke Rathore!"

Sameer turned away in an effort to avoid looking at Arjun but the latter didn't let him, "Ab kyun muh chupa raha hai? Kaisi shakal bana raha thha jab suna ke mere 3 bacche hain, ab apne 5 bacche nahi dikhe tujhe?"

"11 saalon mein 5 bacche! Tu insaan hai ke haiwaan? Havas ke pujari!" taunted Arjun making Sameer was to dig a whole and bury himself in it.

Saaransh giggled at Arjun's statement and added, "Issiliye Ayesha aunty ne Uncle Sammy ko bohot saari cheezein phenk phenk ke maari thhi."

Arjun burst into peals of laughter along with his son from the future while Sameer covered his face with his hands trying to hide away his embarrassment.

Loved it.. great 😍😍 Sameer has 5kids 🙈😂 and arjun 3 wow.. 😂😂

Kya chapter likha hai, kya dialogue the Sam-Jun-Saransh ke....

Haas haas ke meri toh stomach blast hone jaisa ho gayi aur aankhe bhi naam ho gayi.

This is quite a fresh & funny yet interesting concept. Finally, Arjun has got to know & realize that, Saransh is a part of their future life, Ariya's love story got completed & they got married even Arjun has 3 children & Sameer is also married to Ayesha and they have 5 children....🙈🙈🙈.
