Vivek Oberoi Recalls Times When He Went Door to Door to Sell Perfumes

Vivek Oberoi recently thanked his father, Suresh Oberoi, for instilling business skills in him from an early age. Vivek is a well-known figure in the business world for his exemplary entrepreneurial skills.

Besides his ventures in real estate, he has founded several companies and invested in 30 firms. Recently, he spoke about his entrepreneurial journey and expressed gratitude to his father, actor-politician Suresh Oberoi, for fostering a business mindset in him.

I was about 10 years old when my father approached me, saying we’d go on a holiday in a month, but before that, he would teach me something over the first four weeks. He asked me to keep a diary and track the inventory of perfumes he had purchased for me. He told me that whatever I managed to sell beyond the marked price would be mine

By the age of 15, Vivek was already brainstorming his own business ideas and delved into the stock market. At 19, he launched his first tech startup, which he sold successfully by the time he turned 22. 

Reflecting on this pivotal moment, he said,

That’s when I realised it was possible to establish a company, sell it to an MNC and help both investors and myself earn money."

After making his acting debut in Ram Gopal Varma’s Company, Vivek Oberoi established himself with a variety of films like Saathiya, Yuva, Shootout at Lokhandwala, and Krrish 3. Most recently, he starred in Rohit Shetty’s web series Indian Police Force, alongside Shilpa Shetty and Sidharth Malhotra.
