Kartik Aaryan recently kicked off 2024 with the release of his highly anticipated film, Chandu Champion. This biographical sports drama tells the inspiring story of Murlikant Petkar, a paralympic gold medallist who overcame immense challenges.
Directed by Kabir Khan, premiered on June 14 and has been widely praised by both audiences and critics.
One notable admirer is former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag, who was particularly moved by the film’s emotional narrative.
Sehwag shared his thoughts on the movie with Cricbuzz, saying in Hindi, "Maine kal ek picture dekhi uska naam tha Chandu Champion. Kamaal ki picture hai. Usme dikhaya gaya hai ki jo humare paralympic ke khiladi the unki kitni dikkaton ke saath guzarna pada." This translates to, “I saw a movie called Chandu Champion. It’s an amazing film. It showcases the struggles of our paralympic players.”
Adding to the accolades, actor and host Gaurav Kapur emphasized the importance of telling such stories. He encouraged everyone to watch the film, highlighting the broader message about the hardships faced by athletes, especially Paralympians.
Directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner, Chandu Champion stars Kartik Aaryan in the lead role. The cast also includes talented actors like Vijay Raaz, Bhuvan Arora, Yashpal Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, Aniruddh Dave, Shreyas Talpade, and Sonali Kulkarni.
