"Chandu Champion," which premiered on Friday, has seen a steady rise in its collections. The film, starring Kartik Aaryan in the titular role, is based on the inspiring life of Murlikant Petkar, India's first Paralympic gold medalist in freestyle swimming. Directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Kabir Khan, the film features a stellar cast including Vijay Raaz, Bhuvan Arora, and Rajpal Yadav.

On its first day, "Chandu Champion" garnered Rs 4.75 crore, followed by Rs 7 crore on its second day. The film achieved its highest collection on Sunday, earning Rs 10 crore, bringing its total to Rs 21.75 crore over the first three days. The film had a respectable 32.47 percent occupancy in Hindi-speaking regions on Sunday, reflecting its growing popularity.

Meanwhile, "Munjya," a horror-comedy directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, has been performing exceptionally well since its release on June 7. Produced by Maddock Films, the movie has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark at the domestic box office. The film stars Mona Singh, Abhay Verma, Suhas Joshi, and Sathyaraj. It is set against the backdrop of Pune and the Konkan region and draws from Marathi folklore.

In its first week, "Munjya" accumulated Rs 35.3 crore. The film continued its upward trajectory, earning Rs 3.5 crore on day eight, Rs 6.5 crore on day nine, and an impressive Rs 8.5 crore on day ten, the highest since its release. This brings "Munjya's" total collection to Rs 53.8 crore. The movie had an overall 46.35% occupancy in Hindi-speaking regions on Sunday, indicating its strong hold over the audience.

Despite facing competition from "Chandu Champion," "Munjya" has managed to carve out its own niche, thanks to its engaging storyline and connection to the successful Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe, which includes hits like "Stree, "Roohi" and "Bhediya".

"Chandu Champion" continues to gain momentum with its inspiring tale, while "Munjya" maintains its strong performance with its unique horror-comedy blend. As the weeks progress, it will be interesting to see how these films continue to fare amidst the competition.
