Jim Sarbh clarified his stance on Ranveer Singh

Jim Sarbh has made a mark for himself in the past few years with projects like Rocket Boys, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Made In Heaven and others. But most Bollywood fans remember him from Padmavaat. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali made above Rs 300 crore at the global box office. The not-so-subtle chemistry of Ranveer Singh aka Alauddin Khilji and Jim Sarbh has his dedicated slave had made people imagine a lot of things. After the movie’s release, the two would indulge in banter on social media. Some days back, Jim Sarbh went viral for an interview where he spoke about how some actors tended to exaggerate their prep for a role. Somehow, fans assumed it was Ranveer Singh he was talking about.

In an interview with The Quint, Jim Sarbh said, “There are all those actors who are like ‘You know, I was so stuck in my character that I had to get mental therapy for weeks after.’ I was like ‘shut up bro. You didn’t even know your lines on the day, what nonsense.” After this, people assumed that he was talking about his co-star Ranveer Singh. Now, Jim Sarbh has taken to social media to clear the air on the matter. Check out his post.

Reports had come during the making of Padmaavat that Ranveer Singh was negatively affected playing the role of the megalomaniac tyrant ruler. It seems he was reacting in a different way to people in normal life. Friends of the actor apparently advised him to seek therapy to detox his mind. This is perhaps why netizens assumed that Jim Sarbh took a dig at Ranveer Singh. In his Instagram post, Jim Sarbh wrote, “I usually don’t respond to speculative videos and articles, because they’re boring and I assume people know better. Ofcourse, just like some of you, I assumed wrong. Too many people have forwarded me things, and now journalists/interviewers are ‘identifying’ me as a ‘critic’, despite me never having mentioned anyone at all, let alone @ranveersingh.”
