While we're all enjoying the beautiful summer weather and catching up on the movies and series that we have missed out during the exam period, let us not forget to tune into our nearest Cineplex for at least one of the amazing upcoming Bollywood movies this August! Here's BollyCurry giving you a glimpse of what to expect this month.

The Independence weekend brings with it two big budget movies. Let's talk about blue-eyed, Hrithik Roshan starrer, Mohenjo Daro first. Ashutosh Gowariker has teamed up with Roshan yet again, after Jodhaa Akbar that took the box office by storm in 2008. The absolute romantic adventure film also stars Pooja Hedge. It is set in the Indus Valley civilization era, where a man falls in love with the daughter of his enemy. It is said that Gowariker took almost three years working with archaeologists to build the right kind of setting for this movie. How good this frame was used, only time will tell! Mohenjo Daro is produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Sunita Gowariker, whereas the entire soundtrack has been composed by legendary A. R. Rahman and timeless lyricist, Javed Akhtar. This movie has all the essential ingredients of a blockbuster, if you miss it, your loss!

On the other hand, August 12th also sees the release of a movie that is largely based on the incident which changed the face of the Indian judicial system. Rustom is led by Akshay Kumar, Ileana D'Cruz and Esha Gupta. Kumar plays the principle role of a senior Naval Officer, Rustom Pavri. The real life case, K. M. Nanavati V. State of Maharashtra, has been used as the prime plot. In 1959, Nanavati shot his wife's lover with his service revolver. He was trialled at various courts, which gave differing opinions at every trial, leading to a confused case and an even more confusing verdict. Rustom's soundtrack has been combined by a number of soulful singers and the tracks are already becoming chartbusters. To know more, grab a bag of popcorn and head to your nearest cinema!

San 75 (Pachattar)

The underdog movie, San 75's trailer left the audience in a state of shock. Kay Kay Menon is back and this time, with a big bang. The story is based on 1975, the year of emergency, when India came to an absolute standstill. This year saw a pile of political drama and the invention of the first ever mobile in India, which led to all the chaos. The thrilling trailer and Menon's brutal avatar are enough for you to book your tickets for August 19th, if you're a fan of story-based movies!

Happy Bhaag Jayegi

The same weekend of 19th August gives you an option of watching a rom-com, Happy Bhaag Jayegi. Produced under the banner of Eros International and Anand L. Rai, the movie sees the comeback of Diana Penty after her debut movie, Cocktail. She plays the title role of Happy aka Harpreet Kaur, alongside a star cast of Abhay Deol, Jimmy Shergill, Ali Fazal and Momal Sheikh. The movie witnesses a bubbly cum complete Punjabi kudi avatar of Penty, who wants to do anything, but get married. So each time a guy goes on his knees, Happy Bhaag Jayegi! Get ready to watch India's runaway bride (apologies Julia Roberts) soon!

The month ends with a treat for the teens, as we have a superhero action film on board. A Flying Jatt is directed by dance guru, Remo D'Souza and produced by Balaji Motion Pictures. The fresh pair of Tiger Shroff and Jacqueline Fernandes will be seen sizzling the silver screen. Shraddha Kapoor has been roped in for a cameo role, thanks to her former hit movie alongside Shroff, Baaghi. While the lip-lock between the leads has been making news off late, we are wondering what will be the outcome of this Singh Is Kinng cum Krrish mashup of a movie. If you are wondering too, we hope to see you at the cinema near us on August 26th!

Voila! Now that's what BollyCurry calls a full on cinematic month. However busy you are, whether it's getting a tan on the beach, enjoying Netflix and chill nights or even summer schooling, you cannot afford to miss out on August's power packed movies. Once you have watched at least one of the aforementioned movies, don't forget to give us a short review of what you thought!
