Khel Khel Mein vs Vedaa: Akshay Kumar's Film Edges Ahead at Box Office on Day 3

The box office battle between Akshay Kumar's "Khel Khel Mein" and John Abraham's "Vedaa" continues to heat up. Released on Independence Day 2024, both films have been competing fiercely, but Akshay's movie has managed to pull slightly ahead in this race.

"Khel Khel Mein," directed by Mudassar Aziz, features an ensemble cast including Vaani Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu, Ammy Virk, Fardeen Khan, Pragya Jaiswal, and Aditya Seal. The film opened with a decent ₹5.05 crore nett on its first day and earned ₹2.05 crore nett on day two. By the third day, "Khel Khel Mein" garnered an estimated ₹2.85 crore nett, bringing its three-day India total to approximately ₹9.95 crore nett. The film's Hindi occupancy was reported at 25.59 percent on Saturday, reflecting a steady interest from the audience.

On the other hand, "Vedaa," starring John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh, had a promising start with ₹6.3 crore nett on its opening day. However, the film saw a decline on the second day, earning around ₹1.8 crore nett. On day three, "Vedaa" managed to collect an estimated ₹2.4 crore nett, making its three-day total approximately ₹10.5 crore nett in India. The film's Hindi occupancy stood at 17.57 percent on Saturday.

The box office collections of both films are particularly noteworthy given their clash with "Stree 2," starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. "Stree 2" has emerged as a strong contender, securing one of the biggest openings in Bollywood. Despite this, "Khel Khel Mein" and "Vedaa" have held their ground, performing reasonably well amidst stiff competition.

As the films move into their first full week, it remains to be seen how they will fare. With strong casts and compelling storylines, both movies have the potential to maintain their momentum, but the coming days will be crucial in determining their ultimate box office success.
