Virr Saxena always wished to be an actor, how he did not know. Born and brought up in Mumbai, Virr had no Godfather from the Industry.
He knew the only way he could have a chance was to first assist a known director, learn the basic craft of film making and then try as an actor. Virr shares his experience from being assigned to be the 6th AD in Tigmanshu Dhulia's movie to be destined to Act in the same film.
"I always wanted to assist Tigmanshu sir and when I met him in 2013 he told me to assist him as an AD(assistant dir.) on his next project Milan Talkies. However, Milan Talkies was kept on hold that time and sir started his next project titled Yaara which is to be released. Over a period of time, I assisted him in multiple movies and because I was a quick learner and really good at my work, I was promoted from 6th to the 1st AD. That time I confessed to Tigmanshu sir about my willingness to act", says Virr.
"Things were not easy as they seemed. Tigmanshu sir is a taskmaster and expects nothing but the best from his actors. He made me go through the entire process of what it takes to be an actor and even rejected me for one of his films I auditioned for earlier. I literally worked day and night on double shift, while being on the sets as the films AD and by evening in theatre rehearsing for plays by Mrs Nadira Babbar for her theatre group "Ekjute". I approached him after a year of thorough practice on my craft and this time I auditioned again and he was quite surprised. As luck would have it the film was Milan talkies and I bagged an important role in it which will release on 15th March 2019"
"Milan Talkies stars Ali Faizal as the lead and I play a hero in a film set inside a film. It's a really important part of the story. I get to dance on a song, do action and I couldn't ask for more. As a debutant, I am excited and nervous at the same time. I hope people like my work".
Talking about the man himself who gave Virr a break into acting, he says, "I am eternally grateful to Tigmanshu sir for having given me the opportunity to assist him in the first place and take me under his wings. I honestly have learnt a lot about life, people and about hard work from him. He's a visionary really and every day was a new learning experience working with him. And now it just feels unreal to be directed by him and I can just fold my hands humbly to the almighty and to him for having made this" boy realize his childhood dream.
