Ali Fazal on Bringing Guddu Bhaiya to the Big Screen in Mirzapur Film

Interestingly, around the same time, one of the biggest Hollywood series, Peaky Blinders, also announced plans to adapt their show into a film. In terms of my character, I’m not entirely sure how much more can be explored, given that many facets have already been expanded on.”

The actor acknowledged the unique challenges of translating a well-loved series into a theatrical format, particularly for a character as layered as Guddu Bhaiya. “The goal now is to distil all the depth from the three seasons into a concise one- or two-hour cinematic experience, which is quite a challenge. It all depends on how the story unfolds in this new format,” Fazal remarked.
