Throwback: When Kareena Kapoor Khan revealed why she encouraged Saif Ali Khan to be friends with Amrita Singh

Saif Ali Khan celebrates his birthday today. Kareena Kapoor Khan has posted an adorable message for the love of her life. The couple have a very stable and respectful marriage. Kareena Kapoor Khan had said that she respects the fact that Saif was previously married, and has two lovely children from his first wife. She also said she was a fan of Amrita Singh as an actress. She was quoted as saying, “I haven’t met her ever, but I know her through her films. For me, she’ll always have a place of importance in his life because she is Saif Ali Khan’s first wife and the mother of his children. And, I’ve told Saif this.” 

Kareena Kapoor Khan further said that she would want Amrita Singh to be respected as a former partner. She said her parents told her that respect was paramount. Bebo said that her parents taught her that. At the core of it, the two just had a failed marriage. She encouraged Saif Ali Khan to be friends with his former wife. Bebo had stated that she knew it would take time for things to normalize and be cordial once again. 

This shows the level of maturity that Kareena Kapoor Khan had even when she was younger. The actress’ parents Randhir Kapoor and Babita separated when they were young. Their mother raised them single-handedly. Years later, the two reconciled for the sake of their daughters. The diva shares a warm relationship with Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan Pataudi. The siblings dote on Taimur Ali Khan and Jeh Ali Khan as well. Sara famously said on Koffee With Karan that she does not use terms like ‘Choti Mummy’ for Kareena Kapoor Khan. She said it is more of a friendly relationship. 

Amrita Singh also said that she got Sara Ali Khan dressed for Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s wedding. While many Bollywood marriages might have ended, the amount of respect former couples have for one another is something to be admired. Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan have also maintained that fine balance.
