Tere Bin Laden A Superb Spoof!
Tere Bin Laden is this long spoof on Osama, Jihad and War against Terror. After so long has a film been released, that's full of fun from beginning to end. But do carry your sachet of salt before you walk in to watch this one!
Ali (Ali Zafar), a Pakistani TV reporter, is one of those people who are perpetually dreaming 'The American Dream'. However, his visa application gets rejected several times. In his desperation, he hatches a totally crazy plan to make enough money to buy his dream. Backing him up is his buddy cum camera person, a very ambitious make-up artist and a patriotic radio jockey. As Ali and his team make the world believe that Osama is back and so on and so forth, we are taken on a hilarious ride.
Without expensive sets or much of eye-candy the movie stands strong just on the very watertight script. There's so much wit at times that you desperately pine for a break so your painful tummies can relax! Dialogues are biting! Some of the punch lines fall so hard that they just knock the breath out you! Music is maniacal...makes you go completely footloose just like the movie, especially Ullu da pattha.
First time director Abhishek Sharma, has amazed us with his capabilities. Looks like its time for young blood to shine at box office.
The movie makes you wonder at what human mind is capable of. The way this movie has been conceptualized just by a simple idea and woven into this fantastic tickle treat is astounding. Some of the truly worth remembering shots are the Bird idol competition where the hen (or cock) is judged on its capability to cock-a-doodle-doo the loudest and the one where the grenade gets stuck on our fake Osama's hand!
The brilliance also lies in the choice of actors. Pradhuman Singh as fake Osama is awesome. The way he can look both menacing and completely confused and purely stupid is splendid! Ali Zafar is a barrage of naughtiness. His performance is too good. Gul, the cameraperson who'll say yes to anything Ali says is cool. Coming to Sugandha Garg, now this girl will go to places with her don't-give-a-damn performance. Qureshi, the radio jockey, is good at making people laugh with his straight-face. Piyush Mishra is good. Barry John is entertaining.
All in all Tere Bin Laden is a complete entertainer and a must watch this season! So go go go!
