Taapsee Pannu, all smiles in her marriage to her longtime partner, Mathias Boe, faced concerns from friends when they first met. Taapsee in India and Mathias in Denmark, their inaugural date in Dubai raised alarms among her friends who cautioned her about potential risks, advising her to be cautious about not being "sold" to a Sheikh by Mathias.

Taapsee Pannu told Raunaq Rajani on his show Relationshit Advice, “We met around like, say, 10-11 years back and then he proposed to me a year after we met. That was very quick. Yeah, nine years of engagement, none of us changed our minds and we still believe that we can stay together for most of our lives, yeah."

When asked about the craziest thing she has done for love, Taapsee said, “That has been… For the first date, cross-continent or rather cross-country, first date when you don’t know the other person at all, that has been the craziest thing I’ve ever done for anybody. He proposed to me saying that I would like to take you on a date either in Denmark or Dubai. Because these are the two places I know very well. So, I said, who will go to Denmark? Schengen visa, oh my God."

She added, “I was like, why is this guy interested in me? First of all, our confidence, being from this part of the world, we always feel like, you’re a white person, why would he be interested in us? That tiny bit of inferiority complex is there at all times anyway."

“So, I went there and then my friends were like, “You take care of yourself." Don’t let him sell you. I’m not kidding. My friends actually gave me… My best friend’s sister stays in Dubai. So, she gave me her number and I don’t know, if he’s selling me to a Sheikh, she won’t be able to stop the deal, right? He turned out to be a good guy. That’s why 10-11 years passed. I’m sure I would still want to stay with him," Taapsee said.

In the upcoming movie "Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba," Taapsee will grace the screen once again. Continuing from the first film Haseen Dillruba, the plot unfolds with Rani Kashyap and Rishabh Saxena embarking on a new chapter in the lively city of Agra. Pursued by authorities and marked by a trail of blood, their journey takes a dramatic twist with the introduction of Sunny Kaushal's character, Abhimanyu, adding a fresh layer of suspense to the narrative. Amidst new foes like Jimmy Shergill, the couple faces challenges to their quest for a 'happily ever after.'
