After doing phenomenally well for three weeks, film critic Anupama
Chopra's book "King of Bollywood: Shah Rukh Khan and the Seductive
World of Indian Cinema" has been translated in Hindi, Marathi and
German. While the Hindi translation, titled "Shehenshah-e-Bollywood",
and published by Rave Media was released this weekend across the
country, the Marathi translation, published by Ameya Prakashan, will be
released at a function in Pune on September 1. The German translation,
published by Rapid Eye, will be released at the Frankfurt Book Fair in
October this year.
Meanwhile, the English version has already sold over 10,000 copies and received rave reviews. The book reveals how Shah Rukh Khan, a middle-class Muslim boy from Delhi, broke into the world of Mumbai show business and emerged a superstar.
The comprehensive narrative account has been published by Grand
Central Publishing (formerly Warner Books), a major US publishing
house, and is being distributed in India by Om Books and Westland Books
Pvt. Ltd.
