Actress Shruti Haasan, who has been away from Tamil filmdom for nearly two years, thanked actor Vishal Krishna Reddy for giving her a chance to work in Tamil again in the upcoming film "Poojai".
Shruti was last seen in 2012 Tamil films "3" and "7am Arivu". Both films didn't do well at the box office.
"I enjoyed working in 'Poojai'. What's special about it is that I'm returning to Tamil industry. I need to thank Vishal for making me a heroine in the industry again," Shruti said at a promotional event here.
The daughter of Tamil star Kamal Haasan and actress Sarika doesn't have any qualms of being away from Tamil filmdom.
"I come from a multi-cultural family and I belong to Indian cinema. Therefore, I don't mind doing films in all languages. I don't want to restrict myself to one industry," she said.
Directed by Hari Gopalakrishnan, "Poojai" also features Sathyaraj, Renuka, Sithara and Jayaprakash in important roles.
