Lokesh Kanagaraj to surpass all franchise directors pan-India? Film lovers in awe with proposed line-up

Over the years, Lokesh Kanagaraj has earned immense respect from film lovers Pan-India. Not only do his films stand out technically, but he is a master of story-telling as well. In an interview with Anupama Chopra, he said that he has Kaithi 2, Rolex and Vikram 2 planned. He also said that he would have made Leo 2 if Thalapathy Vijay would have agreed on the same. Lokesh Kanagaraj said that Rolex with Suriya would be a standalone film. He had done a cameo in Vikram, which drove the audience crazy. Lokesh Kanagaraj will start work on Kaithi 2 three months after the release of Coolie in the summer of 2025. 

Lokesh Kanagaraj gave a hint on Aamir Khan being a part of the Rajinikanth movie. He said that while official announcements will be made by the producers, fans can expect a big star from some other part of India in the film. The filmmaker also said that he has a habit of editing his movies in his head. This is the prime reason why his films’ shoots are always done on time. Lokesh Kanagaraj said he does not waste even a single day on a set. 

He said that Kaithi 2 and Rolex will be kind of a prequel to the earlier movies. Kamal Haasan will return in Vikram 2 as he finally plans to end the franchise. Lokesh Kanagaraj said he has grown up watching the likes of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan so presenting them in the right manner matters a lot to him. The filmmaker said Rajinikanth Sir was the first to congratulate him after the success of his 2017 film Maanagaram that had Sundeep Kishan in the lead. He said he wants to strike a balance between a masala film and a sensible commercial film. This is why he feels action sequences need to be far and few. It seems Rajinikanth has done some superb scenes in Coolie, stuff that fans have never seen before. Nagarjuna is also there in Coolie as Simon.
