Sharmila Tagore reveals Mansoor Ali Khan's calm reaction to her iconic bikini photoshoot

Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore is widely regarded as one of Hindi cinema's finest and most versatile actresses. Known for her grace and talent, she made a significant impact on Indian cinema. In 1968, she married the legendary cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, and together they were celebrated as one of the most iconic couples until his passing in 2011. Recently, she took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, revealing how Mansoor reacted to her pictures in a bikini.

During an interview on Kapil Sibal’s YouTube channel, Sharmila recalled how her husband responded to her bikini pictures in a magazine. She mentioned that Mansoor was unique, very composed, and extremely supportive. He remained "calm and non-judgemental," largely because he was far away in London and unaware of the commotion her photos had caused in India.

Sharmila shared that she believed there were even questions asked in parliament about the photos, but she had no idea it would cause such a stir. She explained that she was young, had a good figure, and was not coerced into posing. When the cameraman made a comment, she paid no attention.

In the same interview, Tagore reminisced about giving Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi a Mercedes before they were married. Highlighting Sharmila's trendsetting nature, Kapil asked about this special gift, and she recalled that a Mercedes in those days cost Rs 1 lakh. She further explained that buying a car directly wasn't possible back then, and one needed approval before making such a purchase.

On the professional front, Sharmila Tagore's most recent appearance was in the 2023 comedy-drama movie "Gulmohar," where she starred alongside Manoj Bajpayee. The film received rave reviews from both fans and critics, showcasing Sharmila's enduring talent and appeal.
