Himesh Reshammiya’s father, Music director Vipin Reshammiya passes away at the age of 87

Vipin Reshammiya, the father of renowned playback singer and music composer Himesh Reshammiya passed away. Vipin Reshammiya, a respected music director and producer, peacefully departed on Wednesday, September 18, at 8:30 pm. At 87 years old, Vipin was undergoing medical care at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai due to respiratory challenges and age-related health issues. Our thoughts and prayers are with Himesh Reshammiya and his family during this time of loss and mourning.

As per a report from the Times of India, Himesh Reshammiya's family friend, fashion designer Vanita Thapar, verified the passing of his father, Vipin Reshammiya. In her statement to ETimes, she affirmed, "Yes, he was facing a breathing issue."

Thapar mentioned that the fashion designer is akin to family for them and that she shared a paternal relationship with the late music director, Vipin Reshammiya. "I used to call him papa since the time he was making TV serials. Later, he became a music director, and then Himesh followed in his footsteps..." she told the portal.

It is reported that Vipin's final rites are scheduled to take place on September 19 in Juhu, Mumbai. The Reshammiya family will soon bring his mortal remains home.

For those who may not know, Vipin Reshammiya was involved as a producer in The Xpose (2014) and Teraa Surroor (2016), both starring his son, Himesh Reshammiya. Additionally, Vipin composed music for an unreleased film titled Insaaf Ka Suraj (1990). It is said that the singer of Naam Hai Tera once mentioned that his father, Vipin Reshammiya, and Salman Khan were set to collaborate on a project, which led to his encounter with the superstar. Following the introduction by his father, Himesh landed his significant opportunity as a music director in the 1998 film Jab Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, featuring Salman Khan and Kajol.

In a post on Instagram in 2021, Himesh Reshammiya shared that his dad, Vipin Reshammiya, created a song sung by the iconic late singers Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar. Unfortunately, the song couldn't see the light of day at that time.

Describing the song as "one of the finest classic melodies ever," Himesh wrote, "My dad composer Vipin Reshammiya had composed a beautiful track quite a few years back sung by the legendary Lataji and Kishore Kumar ji, unfortunately, it couldn’t be released then..."
