The Khan family has always displayed grace and grandeur, and despite Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s separation, their kids Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan have happily accepted Kareena Kapoor Khan as their second mom, and it is indeed a happy family for the Pataudi's.
Saif, who will be seen playing a father in his upcoming film Jawaani Jaaneman, talks about his three children- Sara, Ibrahim, and the youngest munchkin, Taimur. He also opened up about how his divorce with Amrita Singh, and reveals that it affected his children as well.
In a recent chat with Pinkvilla, Saif was asked how he broke the news of divorce with Amrita Singh to his kids, to which he answered saying: “It’s the worst thing in the world. That is something I still feel could have been different. I think I will never really be okay with that, I mean one needs to understand that certain things can’t be out, I mean I try my best to make peace with that and with myself saying that I was 20 and I was quite young and so much changes. I mean you feel bad but it is a strange thing, sometimes you can’t really imagine... parents is a strange thing, you can’t really imagine of them as together and individuals, as two units as well. You don’t like to think of them making out, you don’t think of them really joined. So it’s like a thing, everyone can be okay with a modern relationship also.”
“I don’t think any child should be deprived of a warm home and that is something that is never easy” the actor adds.

Keeping aside the bitter past, the Khans have often been lauded for holding together a ‘modern family as everybody in the family is respectful of the other’. Reacting to the same, Saif said, “You have to be, you have to make the most of whatever situation and life is beautiful. Nobody should really sit around complaining too much because everything’s alright. Sometimes, having two parents might not be the best thing for anyone, but it might be. I mean a nice stable home is a wonderful environment that one would like to give and share with kids.”
Saif’s children from his first marriage, Sara and Ibrahim share a good rapport with Kareena and in an earlier interview, she had also opened up about her relationship with Bebo and how their conversations include talking of films as they both belong to a similar profession.
“I do think that Kareena is my friend, but more than that, she is my father's (Saif Ali Khan) wife. I respect her, and realise that she makes my father happy. We belong to the same profession, and have a similar world, thus, our conversations include that as well,” Sara had stated.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Sara will be seen in Love Aaj Kal, which is the second installment of Imtiaz Ali’s 2009 film of the same name, starring Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone.
