Alia Bhatt shares precious moments of daughter Raha: First Kick and First Words - Mumma or Papa?

Alia Bhatt gave birth to her first child, daughter Raha, in 2022. She has often shared glimpses of her pregnancy and parenting journey. Recently, Alia opened up about some cherished moments of her motherhood experience. She mentioned that when she informed her husband Ranbir Kapoor about Raha's first kick, he responded with, 'Okay, that's great.' Alia also revealed that her daughter's first word was 'mumma' before 'papa.'

In a fresh chat with Allure Magazine, Alia Bhatt spilled the beans about sensing her daughter Raha's initial kick while filming Heart of Stone in Portugal. She recalled being in bed, engrossed in something, when she sensed a flutter in her belly. Alia shared her confusion and anticipation for the sensation to repeat. She emphasized that babies kick at unforeseen times, not necessarily when you expect them to.

Alia added that she couldn't catch a wink that night due to her excitement. She remembered ringing up her hubby, Ranbir Kapoor, who was fast asleep in Mumbai. Alia shared, “I got really excited and I called my husband up immediately and he was asleep and he answered in his sleep and he was like, ‘What happened?’ I was like, ‘No, no, just you know, baby kicked.’ And he was like, ‘Okay, that's great.’”

In that chat, Alia spilled the beans that there was a big debate at their place about whether Raha would say Mumma or Papa first. The Gangubai Kathiawadi star revealed that Raha's first word was indeed Mumma, uttered during a private moment in her playtime. Alia mentioned how she swiftly grabbed her phone and requested her daughter to repeat the word.

Alia talked about having video proof of the special moment, mentioning, "But then she fully said it, like mumma. Of course, we take great joy and pride in that moment. I have it on video, so if anybody needs proof she said Mumma first."

Alia also reflected on the day Raha was born and the moment she first heard her daughter's voice. Recalling her emotions at that precise moment, Alia shared, "When I heard her voice, I felt like I had met God or something.”

She added, “The minute she was put onto me, I just felt, like an immediate, a dam of love sort of burst open in our life, and it just felt safe, and it felt like my purpose had been met sort of a thing.” Alia wrapped up by expressing that she would never forget that day.

On September 16, 2024, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor were seen with their little munchkin Raha leaving from Mumbai airport. Neetu Kapoor was also part of the group.

Talking about Alia's professional commitments, she is getting ready for the release of her action thriller Jigra on October 11. The movie is all set to captivate the audience during the festive time of Dussehra. Besides, she has been immersed in filming her spy flick Alpha alongside Sharvari. Alia is soon commencing Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, where she will be sharing the screen with Ranbir and Vicky Kaushal.
