Romit Raj breaks silence on engagement to Shilpa Shinde: "It's Been 15 Years"

The romance between Shilpa Shinde and Romit Raj began in 2007 on the sets of their show Maayka. According to reports, by 2009, the couple was engaged, with wedding preparations already underway. However, Shinde had a change of heart, and the engagement was swiftly called off.

In an interview with ETimes TV, Shilpa Shinde discussed her decision to end the engagement. She explained that she felt too young to marry then and, despite pressure from her parents and relatives to proceed with the wedding, she was firm in her decision. Shinde also mentioned during her stint on Bigg Boss 11 that Romit's family had become overly demanding. This factor may have contributed to her decision to call off the engagement.

Meanwhile, Romit, now known for his role as Rohit Poddar on Star Plus's popular series Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, took over the role from Shivam Khajuria.
