Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai: Ruhi backs Abhira's decision to reject the contract

In tonight’s episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Abhira (Samridhii Shukla) discovers that, according to the contract, Kaveri wants to place the baby with the Poddars if she and Armaan separate. Kaveri tells Sanjay that the third clause in the contract will prevent Abhira from separating from Armaan.

After reviewing the contract, Armaan approaches Abhira, who then storms off to confront Kaveri. During their confrontation, Abhira expresses her frustration with the Poddars for undermining her self-respect. Seeing Armaan's distress, Ruhi feels conflicted, as she doesn’t want to hurt him but feels powerless in the situation. This leads to a heated argument between Armaan and Abhira.

Abhira accuses the Poddars of wanting to confine her to a housewife role and becomes furious with Armaan for siding with Kaveri. Armaan argues that while the contract may be flawed, Abhira shouldn't blame the family. He claims that the Poddars care about her deeply. In response, Abhira points out that the Poddars' affection is evident from the contract Kaveri has set up and emphasises her unwillingness to compromise her dignity. Abhira's anger towards Armaan escalates. Ruhi revels in the rift between Abhira and Armaan, especially when Abhira tears up the contract and leaves.

Kaveri threatens Abhira:

During their confrontation, Armaan accidentally injures her finger. Ruhi is taken aback by this turn of events and urges Armaan to tend to his injury before addressing Abhira. However, Armaan dismisses Ruhi's advice, insisting he doesn't need it. Rohit observes Ruhi and learns from her that Armaan had previously helped her, so she felt obligated to return the favour. Rohit asks Armaan to tend to his wound, but Armaan tells him to leave him alone.

Abhira reflects on her situation, pondering how her feelings for Armaan might diminish due to the ongoing contract issues. Armaan, recognising Abhira's anger, decides to address the matter with her at a later time. Meanwhile, Kaveri pressures Abhira to sign the contract, threatening to withdraw as the loan guarantor if she refuses. Abhira realises Kaveri's manipulative intent to force her compliance and acknowledges Kaveri's strategy.

Armaan is met with an accident:

Ruhi feigns sympathy towards Abhira, expressing regret for her difficult situation. She points out that Kaveri’s demand for Abhira to change her name after marriage was a challenge Abhira fought against, but now there’s the contract issue to contend with. Ruhi raises question on Kaveri about whether she will keep subjecting Abhira to such trials and when Abhira will find happiness with Armaan while also building her career.

When Abhira questions Ruhi's genuine concern, Ruhi explains that it’s rooted in her own recent career struggles. Ruhi slyly emphasizes that Abhira’s career is crucial not only for her but also in fulfilling her late mother’s wishes. She challenges Abhira, asking if she is willing to sacrifice her mother’s dreams for the sake of marriage, shocking Abhira with her probing question about whether love and marriage should take precedence over her mother's aspirations.

Taking advantage of Abhira’s emotional vulnerability, Ruhi smiles knowingly and departs. Meanwhile, Armaan attempts to comfort Abhira, but their conversation grows tense. Abhira reacts harshly, causing Armaan to regret discussing the contract with her. Feeling judged, Armaan leaves in frustration, while Abhira tries to stop him. In a tragic turn, Armaan is involved in an accident, leaving Abhira deeply distressed and worried.
