Rana Daggubati recently spoke about the immense excitement within the Telugu film industry for Prabhas' upcoming film, Project K, directed by Nag Ashwin and featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone. During the India Today Conclave South 2023, Rana expressed his anticipation for the film, stating that it would surpass the boundaries set by previous blockbusters like Baahubali and RRR. He emphasized the potential of Project K to become a global film from the Telugu cinema industry.
Baahubali and RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli, achieved significant milestones and brought recognition to Indian cinema on a national and international level. While RRR won the Best Original Song at the Oscars 2023 for "Naatu Naatu," Baahubali paved the way for Indian cinema's global success, receiving widespread acclaim and accolades.
Reports have suggested that Kamal Haasan might join the cast of Project K and portray the role of an antagonist. It is rumoured that he has been offered a remuneration of Rs 150 crores for his role, although an official confirmation is still awaited.
Project K, directed by Nag Ashwin, is a futuristic action-packed thriller that promises to be an unprecedented spectacle, with the involvement of multiple Hollywood-based action directors. The film blends fantasy and science-fiction elements, presenting a modern-day interpretation of the avatar of Vishnu infused with emotional depth.
Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, known for their successful films like Mahanati and Sita Ramam, the film features music and score composed by Santhosh Narayanan, with Djordje Stojiljkovic handling the cinematography. Currently, in its final stages of production, Project K is expected to release by the end of this year, creating high anticipation among fans and the industry alike.
