Rana Daggubati & Dulquer Salman's collab project 'Kaantha' launched with a pooja ceremony- PICS

Selvamani Selvaraj’s upcoming film Kaantha, starring Dulquer Salmaan, Bhagyashri Borse, and Samuthirakani, was officially launched with a traditional pooja ceremony in Hyderabad on Monday. The event, held at Ramanaidu Studios, saw the cast and crew in attendance, marking the beginning of the much-anticipated project produced by Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media and Dulquer’s Wayfarer Films.

At the pooja ceremony, the team members dressed in elegant ivory and gold traditional attire, setting the perfect tone for the auspicious event. Among the special guests was actor Venkatesh Daggubati, Rana's uncle, who gave the inaugural clap, while other notable attendees included Rana's wife, Miheeka Bajaj, and his father, Suresh Babu. Kaantha is being produced as part of the 60th-anniversary celebrations of Suresh Productions, making it an important milestone for the studio.

The film, set in 1950s Madras, explores the complexities of human emotions and societal shifts during a significant period of change. The story aims to capture the nuances of evolving relationships amidst the backdrop of a transforming world. Speaking about the film, Rana Daggubati shared his excitement, saying, “Kaantha is the perfect film to mark both the legacy of Suresh Productions and the launch of Spirit Media. It’s a story rich in human emotion and history.”

Dulquer Salmaan, who leads the film’s cast, added, “The script is beautifully layered, giving us a chance to explore a range of emotions. I’m thrilled to be a part of this incredible journey.” Director Selvamani Selvaraj emphasized how the film will transport viewers to a bygone era, blending historical elements with a story that feels deeply relevant to today’s audience.

Produced by Prashanth Potluri and Jom Varghese, Kaantha also boasts an impressive technical team. The cinematography will be handled by Dani Sanchez Lopez, with music composed by Jhanu, and art direction by Ramalingam. The screenplay is penned by Tamizh Prabha, and editing will be done by Lewellyn Anthony Gonsalves.

The film will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, catering to a wide audience across South India. With production officially underway, fans can expect the first look of Kaantha to be unveiled soon, generating more excitement for what promises to be a grand cinematic experience.
