Rajinikanth hospitalized in Chennai; wife Latha shares health update

Actor Rajinikanth was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai late on Monday night. While there hasn't been any official confirmation from the hospital or Rajinikanth's team, it's understood that he has an elective procedure planned for Tuesday. Hospital sources mentioned that the 73-year-old superstar, who reportedly experienced stomach pain, is currently stable.

Official information regarding Rajinikanth's health status and the scheduled procedure at the hospital is still pending.

Amid growing concerns, the superstar’s wife, Latha, provided an update on his health condition. In a conversation with CNN-News 18, she stated that Rajinikanth is doing well. Latha said, "All is well." 

In late 2020, a similar health scare led Rajinikanth to abandon his plans to launch his long-anticipated political career. He announced his political party in December 2020 but later retracted the plan within the same month, citing health concerns and the pandemic.

Rajinikanth is currently occupied with the filming of Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie. Earlier on Monday, he met with veteran filmmakers SP Muthuraman and AVM Saravanan, and photos from this meeting quickly went viral on social media.

Meanwhile, Vettaiyan, Rajinikanth’s first collaboration with Jai Bhim director TJ Gnanavel, is scheduled to release on October 10. Produced by Lyca Productions, the film features Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan. The music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, and the cinematography is handled by SR Kathir.
