Tamil superstar Rajinikanth has been discharged from Chennai’s Apollo Hospital after receiving treatment for a health issue that concerned his fans worldwide. The 73-year-old actor had been admitted on September 30 due to severe stomach pain. Doctors identified a swelling in the aorta, the main blood vessel leaving his heart, which was successfully treated using a non-surgical procedure called endovascular repair. According to a statement from the hospital, a stent was placed in the aorta to seal the swelling, and the procedure went as expected.

Late Thursday night, Rajinikanth was released from the hospital after a brief stay, as promised by the medical team. "Actor Rajinikanth was discharged from Apollo Hospital at 11 PM last night," said a statement from Chennai Police, confirming the news. The doctors reassured fans that Rajinikanth’s condition is stable, and he is now on the road to recovery. His family, including his daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth, provided regular updates throughout his stay. Soundarya also visited the Tiruvottiyur Shri Vadivudai Amman Temple in Chennai to offer prayers for her father's speedy recovery.

Well-wishers from across the country expressed their support for the legendary actor. Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi took to social media to send his prayers for Rajinikanth's recovery, saying he stands with millions of the star’s devoted fans. Rajinikanth's longtime friend and fellow actor Kamal Haasan also extended his best wishes for a swift recovery.

Rajinikanth's return to good health comes just in time for the release of his much-anticipated film Vettaiyan, scheduled to hit theaters on October 10. Directed by TJ Gnanavel and produced by Lyca Productions, the star-studded film also features Amitabh Bachchan, marking his debut in Tamil cinema, along with Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, and Manju Warrier. Vettaiyan is Rajinikanth’s 170th film and has created significant buzz, especially with music by Anirudh Ravichander.

In addition to Vettaiyan, Rajinikanth is also set to appear in Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Rumors suggest that popular actor Sivakarthikeyan may play an important role in the film. The release date for Coolie is yet to be announced, but fans are already excited to see Rajinikanth back in action.
