Priyanka Chopra Jonas slams comedian Rosie O’Donnell, says ‘best to take the time to Google my name before’

Priyanka Chopra has posted a letter on her Instagram stories slamming comedian Rosie O'Donnell, who issued a less-than-sincere apology for mistaking the actor being the daughter of Deepak Chopra, a well-known writer in the United States. While apologising to Priyanka for the "awkward" encounter, Rosie referred to her as 'Nick Jonas’ wife', 'someone Chopra’ and even ‘the Chopra wife’ while apologising to her for the ‘awkward’ encounter.

Priyanka Chopra is the daughter of late Dr. Ashok Chopra and Dr. Madhu Chopra, Priyanka's father, served in the Indian Army as a surgeon. 

In the note, Priyanka stated, "Hi everyone. Some thoughts.. I have never taken myself so seriously to think everyone would know who I am, or my work for that matter. But if you wanted to make a public apology for a very awkward private encounter, I think probably best to take the time to Google my name before doing it or even try to reach out directly. We ALL deserve to be respected for our unique individuality and not be referred to as ‘someone’ or 'wife' especially in a sincere apology. If we can learn to respect our differences in an authentic way, the world we raise our children in, will be amazing." "Also PS - As I've already stated, not all Chopras are linked to the great Deepak, just as not all Smiths are related to the iconic Will Smith," she concluded 

Nick Jonas, Priyanka's husband, praised her on Instagram stories, responding to the note with, "Well said my love." 

On Sunday, Rosie O'Donnell posted a TikTok video on Instagram, in which she discussed her experience with Priyanka and Nick at a Malibu restaurant. She claimed she went out of her way to meet the pair. "So when I said, 'Hi Nick Jonas, you were fantastic in Kingdom,' and 'Hi (Priyanka), I know your dad," she explained. 'You do?' she asks. 'How do I find out who my father is?' And I'm thinking, 'Deepak.' I was very humiliated when she said, 'No, and Chopra is a common name.'" 

Sharing the incident, she asked her fans if she was the only one who misunderstood Priyanka as Deepak Chopra's daughter. Apologising to Priyanka and Nick for greeting them in such an awkward way, she said, “Nick Jonas, I apologise, and to the Chopra wife, I apologise too.”

Fans of Priyanka Chopra slammed the comedian for not knowing who she was and for referring to her as Nick's wife rather than referring to her by name.

On the personal front, Priyanka and Nick welcomed a their first baby last month through surrogacy.
