Pagalpanti Movie Review: A film so funny that it urges you to Rip your Hair Off!
Hopefully, this comedy flick doesn't emerge as a franchise!

Anees Bazmee directorial Pagalpanti plots the story of Raj Kishor, Chandu, and Junky who consistently keep on falling in trouble for their stupidity. In order to carve a niche for themselves, they keep on trying to emerge as entrepreneurs out of desperation. But things always took a wrong turn and they somehow end falling in trouble.
In a career span of almost 2 decades, Bazmee made his directorial debut with Hulchul which was definitely not a comedy. But, soon comedy piqued his interest and he conceived some of the most hilarious films of all time in new-age Bollywood cinema.
However, Pagalpanti doesn't seem to satisfy you and if the audience already expected a lot from him, it's clearly because of his previous works. The director mainly believes in impromptu sequences that will attract the audiences. But, who would have thought, his idea of directing style would turn against himself.
The layers of confusion are the only catalysts that have always worked terrifically for a successful comedy script. But, it is equally important to note the possibility of every sequence that has been added to the script. The film loses itself into oblivion as soon as you start grabbing a scene.
For example, it not even been fifteen minutes that the film has started, and the story is about to take pace and... Bang! You have a nonsensical and an unnecessary remake of Tum Par Hum Hai Atke.
The plot is concluded long back yet the film keeps going on, why couldn't you end it earlier?
Not to mention the undefined narratives of the plot which constantly contour the whole film in really bad shape. These layers make it really difficult for the audience to grab the whole idea of the film.
To simply put the addition of humour balances out dry areas where there’s hardly any sense in the dialogues.
You might crackle a few laughs, but what about the latter part?
Perhaps, it's notable that the makers have appropriately added non-diabetic background score to catch your attention with references from the actor's previous films. But, somehow the film doesn't seem to end and the whole plot keeps repeating for unknown reasons.
In time, John has lost his body language for comedy films. If you have already watched his films like Garam Masala you’ll be devastated to know that he is no more a comedy actor. In fact, Arshad, Anil Kapoor and Saurabh Shukla are the only actors who have tried to handle this film.
Pulkit tries to catch up with Arshad and the rest, maybe in time, he will learn.
The makers have definitely wasted a fortune on Kriti Kharbanda, Ileana D'Cruz and Urvashi Rautela.
In conclusion, if Bazmee had thought the film would do wonders to the likes of his previous film Welcome, he is completely wrong. In fact, he could have done better, deleting the unnecessary action sequences and those absurd songs!
