In 2018, Taapsee Pannu starred in three films, namely Mulk, Manmarziyaan and Soorma. The films not only did well at the box-office but she received appreciation from both critics and the audience for her roles in all three of them. But to everyone's dismay, she was not nominated in the Best Actress category at the recently concluded Filmfare Awards 2019.
But guess what? Taapsee, being her unabashed self, did not shy away from speaking their mind and lashed out at the Filmfare Awards recently. For those caught unaware, a website compiled a list of nine questions they wanted to ask Filmfare Awards regarding their choices at the 2019 event. To this, Taapsee replied, "And the question number 10 to you lovely people... since when are these awards ultimate yardstick to how good you were. The fact that you all missed me there is a big acknowledgment for me, I can happily live with that and make more such movies you love me in."
Her subtle dig came after she did not make it to popular Best Actress category at the Filmfare Awards this year. Instead, Alia Bhatt for Raazi, Deepika Padukone for Padmaavat, Neena Gupta for Badhaai Ho, Rani Mukerji for Hichki and Tabu for Andhadhun, were nominated by the jury in the Best Actress category. Although she was nominated in the Critics Choice category for Mulk. Taapsee lost the black lady to Neena Gupta for Badhaai Ho.
On the work front, Taapsee was last seen in Amitabh Bachchan starrer Badla.
