NCT member Taeil charged for quasi-rape of a drunk woman

NCT member Moon Tae-il is under investigation on charges of quasi-rape. On October 7, Korean media outlets reported on the exact nature of crime that he has been accused of. As per Chosun, Moon Tae-il and his two acquaintances sexually assaulted a woman who was in an intoxicated state. He has been charged with quasi rape. This means the perpetrators had a weapon in their hand, when they did the act. If Moon Tae-il and his acquaintances admit to their crime, they can face upto seven years in jail or lifetime imprisonment. Moon Tae-il is no longer a part of NCT. 

Fans are in shock with the gravity of the crime. Many feel this is straight up criminal activity if true. Moon Tae-il has been part of the group for a long time. He was doing group and promotional activities till August. Netizens are livid thinking that the company might have let him continue knowing that he was under investigation. 

NCT Moon Tae-il was on a hiatus from the group at that time. It was his birthday month. Fans are aghast thinking he did something so heinous. They want lawmakers to charge him like a proper sexual assault offender if he is found guilty. 

Even those he was under investigated, he participated in group activities. Netizens are also questioning SM Entertainment for their silence on the matter. This is not a small matter. International observers have called out the justice system of South Korea that is soft on sexual offenders as per many. Fans angrily said he was a psychopath if he could return to work after allegedly doing what he has been accused of. The singer will be soon called for questioning. His two other acquaintances are not from the celeb world.
