In the world of Indian cinema, where diverse opinions and artistic expressions flourish, veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah's recent comments about the box office success of films like "The Kashmir Files" and "Gadar 2" have ignited a spirited exchange of perspectives. Reacting to Naseeruddin Shah's statements, Pallavi Joshi and Anil Sharma have offered their insights while extending an invitation for the renowned actor to watch their films before passing judgment.
Pallavi Joshi, producer of 'The Kashmir Files' and a key performer in the film, expressed her respect for Naseeruddin Shah's artistry and emphasized the importance of a comprehensive understanding. She urged the actor to view 'The Kashmir Files' and then share his thoughts, noting that it may not be the film he perceives it to be. Pallavi believes that it is premature to comment on something one has merely heard about.
She shared, to ETimes, " I respect Naseer bhai a lot, he is a very good artist, I request him to watch my film once. We have worked together in many films, so I know him well. Now if he comments on my film without seeing it, it hurts, but what to do? The world is like this."
Anil Sharma, the producer of 'Gadar 2, also expressed his surprise at Naseeruddin Shah's comments and highlighted the essence of his film as a quintessential masala entertainer. He stressed that 'Gadar 2' is a patriotic film devoid of any agenda against a particular community. Anil Sharma, a fan of Naseeruddin Shah's acting prowess, extended an invitation for him to watch the film, confident that it could change the actor's perception.
Anil stated to Aaj Tak, "If he has made those statements, I would like to request him to watch my film; he will certainly change his opinion. Naseer saab knows pretty well that I have always made films for the sake of the masala and never had a political agenda as part of my films."
In a recent interview, Naseeruddin Shah expressed his concern about films like 'The Kashmir Files,' 'The Kerala Story,' and 'Gadar 2' gaining immense popularity while films by directors like Sudhir Mishra and Hansal Mehta struggle to find their audience.
