The statement explained, “After many years of marriage, Mrs. Saira has made the difficult decision to separate from her husband, Mr. AR Rahman. Despite their deep affection, they have faced emotional strains that created an unbridgeable gap. Mrs. Saira asks for privacy and understanding during this tough period." Recalling their story, he said, “In 1994, when I was about twenty-seven, I decided it was time to get married. My mother and sister first saw Saira at a Sufi saint’s shrine in Chennai. Everything happened so easily.” Fans admired their love story, making the news of their separation even more surprising.
