Nagarjuna condemns Konda Surekha's controversial remarks on son Naga Chaitanya and Samantha's divorce

A major controversy erupted recently after Telangana Minister Konda Surekha made shocking allegations, linking the high-profile divorce of actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao (KTR). Surekha claimed that KTR, son of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, was involved in tapping the phones of actresses, including Samantha, and used blackmail tactics to target them. She even alleged that KTR's actions led to the breakdown of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha’s marriage.

In a media interaction, Surekha stated, "It is because of KT Rama Rao that Samantha and Naga Chaitanya's marriage ended. He used to tap the phones of actresses, find their weaknesses, and blackmail them." She further accused KTR of getting several film personalities addicted to drugs and using that to control them.

These claims have sparked widespread outrage, especially from the film industry. Superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni, Naga Chaitanya’s father, condemned the minister’s statements in a strong message. He expressed disappointment that Surekha was dragging the personal lives of movie stars into political controversies. "I strongly condemn Konda Surekha’s remarks. As someone in a responsible position, she should not make baseless accusations about our family. It is important to respect others' privacy. I urge her to retract these false statements," Nagarjuna said in a social media post.

Leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi were quick to respond to Surekha’s remarks, calling them “cheap and disgusting.” Legal action has also been initiated, with KTR’s lawyer sending a notice to Surekha for defamation.

The controversy comes after Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu publicly announced their separation in 2021, following four years of marriage. However, Nagarjuna’s strong stance indicates the family's unwillingness to tolerate such accusations.

Meanwhile, Naga Chaitanya has moved on in his personal life and is now engaged to actress Sobhita Dhulipala, a relationship that became public earlier this year. The ongoing controversy surrounding his previous marriage has once again put his personal life in the spotlight, even as he looks ahead to new beginnings.
