Munjya Fame Abhay Verma hopes to meet Shah Rukh Khan during Diwali Celebrations

Abhay Verma has garnered attention in 2024 for his standout performance in the horror comedy Munjya. Recently, it was reported that he has been cast in the upcoming film King, which stars Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan. In a recent interview, Abhay expressed his eagerness to meet Shah Rukh during the Diwali festivities, sharing that he would do the superstar's aarti in his mind.

Abhay recently discussed his Diwali plans, revealing that he intends to celebrate with industry colleagues and visit some exciting venues for the holiday. He emphasized that meeting Shah Rukh during these celebrations would make it the "best" Diwali for him, likening the anticipation to the thrill of firecrackers.

The actor added, “Main bhi apne mann mein aarti ka thaal tayyar rakhunga invisible. Aankhon se aarti utarunga main jaise Ram ji ki Ayodhya lautne pe hui hogi.

According to recent media reports Abhay has been cast in King in a pivotal role. A source mentioned, “Abhay has received significant acclaim for his performance in Munjya, which has led to a surge in offers. He is thrilled to take on a key role in King alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan.”

Directed by Sujoy Ghosh and produced by Gauri Khan in collaboration with Siddharth Anand, King is set to feature Abhishek Bachchan as the antagonist. Filming is expected to begin in January 2025, with a target completion date of August or September. The filmmakers are aiming for a theatrical release around Eid 2026.
