Munjya Star Abhay Verma on His Role in 'King' with SRK, says "I wish I could tell the world that ‘This is.....

Abhay Verma, known for his role in the horror-comedy 'Munjya' alongside Sharvari, is reportedly joining the cast of Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated action-thriller, ‘King’. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, this project has already created a buzz, especially after Abhay’s recent comments about working with the Bollywood superstar.

In an interview with Popdiaries, Abhay was asked about how he got the role in 'King' alongside Shah Rukh Khan. Initially, Abhay tried to dodge the question, saying it wasn’t the right time to reveal any details. However, when probed further, he couldn’t hide his excitement and admiration for Shah Rukh Khan. “I have idolized Shah Rukh Khan not just as an actor but as a person as well,” he shared with a smile. When asked about the rumours surrounding his involvement in the project, Abhay added, “Whatever we have heard about the rumors of whatever is going to happen, I hope that happens (smiles).”

Abhay also confessed his nervousness about being part of such a significant project. “Honestly, I have never been so nervous in life. I wish I could tell the world that ‘This is happening’, ‘Yeh main kar raha hoon (I’m doing this)’, etc. I am so sorry, but abhi zyada kuch batane ke liye nahin hai (There is nothing much to tell about),” he said.

The actor further revealed that he believes in keeping surprises and didn’t even inform his family about ‘Munjya’ until six months into the project. As per reports, the script for ‘King’ is finalized, with filming scheduled to begin in November 2024. The film, one of Shah Rukh Khan’s most awaited releases, will feature Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan in significant roles. The movie promises to showcase Shah Rukh Khan in a raw and rugged action avatar, with a mentor-protégé relationship between SRK and Suhana Khan’s characters, as they face off against Abhishek Bachchan’s antagonist.

Anirudh is composing the music and background score for the film, with top industry talents brought in to design the action sequences, promising a thrilling cinematic experience.
