Rani Mukerji- Shah Rukh Khan to REUNITE years later in 'King'

Bollywood fans have much to look forward to as reports confirm that Rani Mukerji is joining the powerhouse cast of King, the upcoming action-thriller headlined by Shah Rukh Khan. Known for their unforgettable chemistry in classics like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Shah Rukh and Rani are set to reunite on screen after years and this time, in a high-octane action drama helmed by Siddharth Anand.

The film is already making waves for its stellar ensemble, with Deepika Padukone recently confirmed as the female lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Adding further buzz to the project, Rani Mukerji will be seen in an extended cameo, playing the role of Suhana Khan’s mother. While her part spans just five shooting days, it’s said to be crucial to the storyline and adds emotional weight to the fast-paced narrative.

Sources close to the project reveal that Rani didn’t take long to say yes. Once she heard the script and understood the significance of her character, she immediately came on board. Her role is described as the emotional backbone of King, acting as a catalyst that propels the story forward.

King is being produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, marking the big-screen debut of Suhana Khan. The cast also includes Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, and Abhay Verma, making it one of the most exciting line-ups in recent memory. Shah Rukh Khan will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar as an assassin, with Abhishek Bachchan reportedly playing the antagonist.

Director Siddharth Anand, riding high on the success of Pathaan and Fighter, is all set to begin shooting in Mumbai from May 20, before moving to an international schedule in Europe. The film is aiming for a theatrical release in the October–December 2026 window.

With a powerful mix of action, emotion, and nostalgia, King promises to be a cinematic event and Rani Mukerji’s addition only adds to the excitement.
