Meghna Gulzar taps Kareena Kapoor & Ayushmann Khurrana for hard-hitting new drama

After directing acclaimed films like "Talvar," "Raazi," and the recent hit "Sam Bahadur," Meghna Gulzar has finalised the script for her next project. According to sources, this upcoming film will be based on the chilling true events from 2019. The director plans to start filming by the end of this year, with casting currently underway.

A report from Pinkvilla reveals that Meghna Gulzar is in advanced talks with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana for leading roles. “It’s a hard-hitting film that demands actors of the caliber of Ayushmann Khurrana and Kareena Kapoor Khan. They have read the script and were shocked by the details of the case. After Talvar, this is another film that could shock the nation and stir a conversation about the case."

While Kareena and Ayushmann have agreed in principle to join the film, the official paperwork is expected to be completed in the next two weeks.

Reports also stated that “Meghna aims to start filming by the end of 2024, with a planned release in 2025." This emphasizes that the team is committed to presenting the sensitive subject matter with the utmost care.
