JioCinema’s upcoming murder mystery series, ‘Gaanth Chapter 1: Jamnaa Paar’, featuringMonika Panwar, Manav Vij, and Saloni Batra, is set to premiere on Jio Cinemas. Directed by Kanishk Verma, the show revolves around a bizarre mass suicide case in the eerie streets of East Delhi, capturing both media and police attention. Manav Vij, who plays the lead role of a police officer Gadar Singh, shares his experience working on ‘Gaanth’ and his relationship with the team during filming.

“On multiple occasions, I found myself giggling between takes and I had to control myself before the cameras started rolling again. There was one time when we had an impromptu plan for a dance-off during a break and I would surely like to mention that my moves are best kept off-screen!” Manav shared.

He further continued, 

As an actor, I hope that viewers watch me as if I am genuinely embodying the character of Gadar Singh. I strive to be authentic in every role, and if the audience finds my portrayal honest and convincing, then I feel I’ve succeeded. That’s what keeps me motivated and passionate about my work.

In "Gaanth Chapter 1," the gripping narrative centers around 40-year-old Police Inspector Gadar Singh, tasked with investigating a perplexing case of mass suicide in East Delhi. The plot intensifies when Singh encounters Sakshi Murmu, a psychiatric intern with a unique ability to detect patterns invisible to most people. Together, Murmu and Singh delve into the enigma of why seven individuals chose to hang themselves in a single house.

Renowned actor Manav Vij, acclaimed for his roles in "Andhadhun" and "Udta Punjab," portrays Gadar Singh. He describes his character as a deeply complex individual, grappling with his own inner struggles while committed to uncovering the truth as a police inspector. The crime-thriller features a stellar cast, including Manav Vij as Gadar Singh, Monika Panwar as Sakshi Murmu, and Saloni Batra.

"Gaanth Chapter 1" will be available for streaming on Jio Cinema starting from 11th June.
