Shalini Passi Reveals How Her Husband's Family Crashed a Wedding to Find Their Perfect Match

Delhi’s celebrated socialite and art lover Shalini Passi recently shared the unique story of how she met her husband, Sanjay Passi, in an arranged marriage that started in a surprising way. Known for her lively presence on Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives, Shalini starred alongside Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Maheep Kapoor, Neelam Soni, and others. While her bold personality catches attention, little is known about her private life until now. In a recent interview, Shalini revealed how Sanjay's family went to great lengths to meet her.

Talking to Brut India, Shalini shared that her husband’s family “gatecrashed” a wedding to see her. During her friend’s sister’s wedding, some girls from Sanjay’s family approached her and asked, “Are you married?” When Shalini said no, they seemed delighted and said, “We found the perfect girl.” Shalini remembers the moment well, saying, “They asked if my parents were coming to the mehendi ceremony. I told them they’d arrive later in the evening.” Excited, they told their mother about finding a match for their “Sanjay bhaiya.”

Later that evening, Sanjay’s family arrived to meet her. “It was an arranged marriage,” Shalini shared, “but Sanjay is my universe.” Shalini also discussed what she wanted in a husband, expressing that she looked for qualities like honesty and sobriety. “They gatecrashed the wedding just to meet me,” she laughed, “and I told them I wanted someone who doesn’t drink, smoke, or gamble because I don’t either. It was a joy meeting Sanjay and his wonderful family.”

Apart from her marriage, Shalini is admired for her contributions to art and design, with her influence reaching international festivals. Sanjay heads the Pasco Group, a major Tata Motors distributor in North India. The couple married in the 2000s and share a son, Robin.
