Karan Johar terms Internet a 'Loch Ness Monster' after being trolled for 'giving' Jigra to Alia

Karan Johar has been mercilessly called out as ‘flagbearer of nepotism’ in the past few years. Netizens are slamming him for giving multiple chances to Alia Bhatt, Janhvi Kapoor and Ananya Panday. Few days back, in an interview Vasan Bala said he had just given a rough draft of Jigra to Karan Johar, and he immediately sent it to Alia Bhatt. He said he did not even know that she had got the script. This statement of Vasan Bala has invited immense anger from netizens. They said that this is proof that Karan Johar gives all good scripts on a platter to his protégé. They slammed him for not even allowing a filmmaker to discuss his choices for the lead roles. 

Vasan Bala later clarified what he meant. He said that what he had sent to Karan Johar was a very rough draft. Bala was quoted as saying, “I was like I would have at least done some spell check, grammar check, hygiene, written some very nice hero entry… That email was sent and I asked Karan ‘Why did you do this?’ He said ‘No, no this is how it works.” Netizens said this is how Alia Bhatt has bagged all good movies of her career, where other outsiders have not stood a chance due to her connections.

Fed up with the wave of negativity and gross misinterpretation, Karan Johar took to Instagram and featured a quote by I’m Salmiah. It read, “We have to be strong to ensure out life is stable enough to shut some negative people’s mouth.” Karan Johar said he laughed initially at how people misinterpreted what Vasan Bala said about a rough draft full of grammatical errors but the noise had become truly annoying now. He termed Vasan Bala as one of his best collaborators and said no one seems to have heard the tone of his statement. Karan Johar finished off saying, “I fold my hands and tell everyone please hear and read entire interviews before making click bait assumptions! Loads of Love to all of you ….”

But social media is hardly impressed. A netizen commented, “As a producer, you didn't even ask the Director who was his First choice. You directly sent the script to Alia. It shows misuse of power. No wonder, Alia looks like a misfit in most of the films. If Alia didn't have you, she would have been struggling to even enter the industry. Boz she is that basic.”
