Kalki 2898AD is the biggest film of the year. Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani and Brahmanandam are part of this dystopian sci-fi film that is inspired by Indian mythology. The advance sales for the first day premiere is astounding in the North America market. There was a lot of talk on whether special shows would be allowed in markets like Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. As we know, the Government had put a cap on prices. But now, news is out that special shows are indeed happening and rates are in upwards of Rs 400 in multiplexes.

In single screens, it is close to Rs 300. People who want to see it in 3D have to pay more. The film has set a record for an Indian movie in Dallas with its advances. It has even beaten the records of Hollywood films. It is all set to cross over the premiere advance collections of RRR in the North America market. The makers are doing an event in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh today, a city which is the birthplace of Kalki 2898AD.

Kalki 2898AD has been making news since the start. It is made on a budget of Rs 600 crores and the makers need a smashing first weekend to recover costs and get momentum. Opening has never been an issue with films of Prabhas. The film set in a dystopian world where the evil has taken over. Prabhas is playing Bhairava, a character inspired by the destructive form of Shiva. Everyone is super fascinated by Amitabh Bachchan who seems to have done action scenes even at this age. This was one of the rare films that even the megastar stepped out to promote. Kamal Haasan too is getting immense love from one and all. The superstar from the South has no signs of slowing down much like Big B.
