Prabhas has proved that he is truly a pan-India star. Trade expert Atul Mohan told us, “In Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, almost every hall is sold out. We can expect Rs 60 crores from there. What has surprised the trade is the enquiries for Kalki 2898AD even in smaller towns of North India. Bihar and Uttar Pradesh is leading the way. If this clicks, we are looking at the biggest movie of 2024. It can beat the opening of Fighter, which was Rs 25 crores.”

Even Akkshay Rathie had similar views. He told us, “I am hoping for a box office start of Rs 20 crores plus. Kalki 2898AD can be the best movie of the year for the Indian box office. It can beat Fighter and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan if it picks up momentum.” When we asked him about the prediction of Rs 180 crores gross worldwide on day one, he said it is possible. “I mean, look at the superb cast. You have Kamal Haasan from Tamil Nadu, Big B and Deepika from Bollywood and Prabhas. Nag Ashwin has made a film, which is a spectacle. If Kalki’s content appeals, it will create box office mayhem,” Rathie said.
