'Kalki 2898 AD': Amitabh Bachchan 'indebted' after blockbuster success; says it is routine for Prabhas

Amitabh Bachchan is undoubtedly the megastar of India. In his 70s, he has delivered superb performances in movies like Paa (2009), Piku (2015), Jhund (2020) to name a few. But Kalki 2898 AD has again made public hoot for the legend Big B. Fans are ecstatic with how Nag Ashwin presented Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwatthama in the film. At 80, Amitabh Bachchan did prosthetic makeup that took three to four hours on a daily basis, shot for action scenes, injured himself and again bounced back. There is unanimous verdict that he is one of the best parts of Kalki 2898 AD. 

In a video released by Vyjayanthi Movies, he has thanked fans for the blockbuster collections of Kalki 2898 AD. He said this is the first time he is seeing such box office success. While his many films have done silver jubilee and golden jubilee business, this is the first time that he has entered the Rs 500 crore club. He said that such numbers are routine for Prabhas, and even Deepika Padukone. He said his co-stars have ‘stratospheric stardom’. Amitabh Bachchan also hailed the vision of Nag Ashwin, and the technicians who brought such a tough vision to life.

Kalki 2898 AD means this is the third movie after Baahubali 2 to cross the Rs 500 crore mark for Prabhas. Big B said it is routine for Rebel Star Prabhas to achieve such figures. Kalki 2898 AD has made Rs 900 crores so far at the box office. The best numbers have come in from the Telugu and Hindi markets. Kalki 2898 AD is a blend of modern dystopian sci-fi action with a tale from the Mahabharata. Even celebs have hailed it as a visual masterpiece. Producer Ashwini Dutt revealed that 60 per cent of Kalki 2 has been filmed already. Only the shoot of the big scenes are pending. Big B thanked Santhosh Narayanan f or the music, Djordje Stojiljkovic for his cinematography and rest of the crew. It is made on a budget of Rs 600 crores. With this, Prabhas has proved that he is indeed the biggest pan-Indian star. Kalki 2898 AD will release in next few months in Japan and China.
