Jab tak hai jaan, main nachoongi!!
If Sholay was made for TV, Gabbar Singh would have been a happier man, as these dance show perennials would have danced till eternity.

Today there is a dime a dozen song and dance reality shows on the idiot box. Naturally, all of them are not Madhuri Dixits and Hrithik Roshans, so you have very few who appear in every second show, putting their two feet and vocal chords to good use. What's more, the money is good, the publicity is very good and unlike a number of daily soaps, these shows are a start to finish business. So who are these show perennials and why do we see them on every channel?
Rajeshwari Sachdev and Varun Badola:
This talented duo certainly doesn't seem to be getting any exciting acting offers. Satisfying roles are few and far between, but then that EMI needs to be taken care of, so the next best thing they can do is participate in these dance shows. While Raj is a trained classical dancer, Varun has his own inimitable style. The shows provide some good, quick money and this way you stay in the public eye. Besides, the wounds of losing out to Supriya and Sachin Pilgaonkar in the very first season of Nach Baliye do not seem to have healed.
Kashmera Shah and Krushna Abhishek:
Ever since Kash appeared in Season 1 of Big Boss, and followed it up with an appearance with beau Krushna in Nach Baliye 3, inki toh nikal padi hai. If Kash is known more for her cleavage than jhatkas, Krushna has mama Govinda's mean dancing genes in him. While Kash leaves no opportunity to jiggle her booty, Krushna is simultaneously trying his hand at comedy. They seem to have put their marriage plans on the back burner, giving more importance to participating in reality shows. Not really known for their acting talents, their dancing feet have certainly come to their rescue and hownot to forget the moolah they rake in. And Kash's controversy-courting antics also continue to attract the newsprint.
Shweta Tiwari:
This one dances like there is no tomorrow. With her marriage to Raja Chowdhury over, this attractive actress has no choice but to keep the fires burning. Not that Raja helped earlier. But with her cash-cow Kasauti Zindagi Kay off air and with hardly any exciting acting offers coming her way, participating in dance shows seem to be the only choice for her. That she is a very good dancer and can change from demure to sexy in minutes helps a lot in getting these offers.
Tanaaz and Bakhtiyar Irani:
Super dancers and prone to controversies (Malaika Arora Khan has still not gotten over fighter cock Bakhtiyar Irani's attention-grabbing antics in Zara Nachke Dikha), they have had a baby not so recently. Bakhtiyar and Tanaaz are known mainly for their comedy, but since comedy shows on TV are not always up to the mark, this wacko couple has no choice but to naach, naach and naach some more. That they have yet to win a competition is an added incentive to participate in these shows.
Manish Goel:
For actors like Manish, who are known to have a chip on his shoulder and a major attitude problem (ask his producers whose shows he's either left mid-way or has been sacked from), these song and dance shows are a boon. While he's an average dancer, Manish had also tried his vocal skills once and made a fool of himself crying like a baby (we still haven't forgotten the 'what hit them' expressions on the show judges Karan Johar and Simi Garewal). Luckily, Manish's wife Poonam has decided to spare us the agony as she no longer dances in these shows, while hubby dear continues to display his two left feet everywhere!! Lage raho, Manish bhai!
Mona Singh and Shveta Salve:
Ever since they participated in Jhalak Dikhlla Jaa and earned ceetis and awards, Singh and Salve have been dancing at every given opportunity on television. Fortunately, they are easy on the eye and even more easier on the feet.
Following the same are many more actors, Ronit Roy, Rakhi Sawant, Abhishek Awasthi, Jasvir Kaur, Sayantani Ghosh, Naman Shaw, Jay Bhanushali...Well, the list is endless!!
